We achieved the conversion of almost saturated salt water (ca. 240.000 ppm or 24% salt concentration) into drinking water of 150 ppm (less than normal tab water). This is exactly the salt concentration preferred for mineral water in Arabia.
50% of the incoming salt water could be converted into drinking water.
Conventional salt water treatment and conversion technologies achieve only 20 to 40% drinking water out of the incoming salt water (45.000 ppm). Its conditions of use are limited to salt water concentrations below 70.000 ppm.
For comparison: The salt concentration of the Dead Sea is 230.000 to 280.000 ppm or 23% to 28%. The Arabian Gulf has a concentration over 45.000 ppm.
